Proposal:

Species and Location of Trees

T2.              A Weeping Willow tree approximately 17m in height, situated in the front right-hand corner of the garden adjacent to the road.  The tree is a little dense and wide spreading.

T3.              A Cherry tree approximately 8m in height, situated on the right-hand side of the entrance.  The tree is dead.

T4/5/6.     Three small Palm trees.

T11.            An Apple tree.

T12.            A Box Elder tree (Acer negundo) approximately 8m in height, situated close to the flank wall of the house to the left side.  The tree is a little dense and wide spreading.

T13.            A Purple Plum tree approximately 10m in height, situated on the left-hand side boundary.  The tree is a little dense and wide spreading.

T14.            An Elder tree approximately 8m in height, situated in the rear garden near the left-hand corner of the property.  The tree is poorly sited.

T15.            A Magnolia tree approximately 6m in height, situated in the centre of the rear garden.

T16.            A Palm tree.

T18.            An Oak tree approximately 6m in height, situated in the bottom right-hand corner of the rear garden.  The tree is poorly shaped.

T19.            A Sycamore tree approximately 11m in height, situated in a central location on the bottom boundary of the rear garden.  The tree is badly sited.

Description of Approved Works

T2.              Crown thin by 20% including the removal of dead wood, lifting low branches, and necessary re-shaping.  The height and basic shape should be retained.  It is important to prune branches at convenient growth points, rather than an all-round reduction or pollarding which is not permitted. Ivy should also be removed.

T3.              Remove and the stump ground out.

T4/5/6.     Remove.

T11.            Remove.

T12.            Crown thin by 15% including the removal of dead wood and necessary trimming back from the house.  The height and basic shape should be retained.  It is important to prune branches at convenient growth points, rather than an all-round reduction or pollarding which is not permitted.

T13.            Crown thin by 25% including the removal of dead wood, water shoots, and necessary re-shaping.  The height and basic shape should be retained.  It is important to prune branches at convenient growth points, rather than an all-round reduction or pollarding which is not permitted.

T14.            Remove and the roots grubbed out.

T15.            Lightly thin by 10%.

T16.            Already removed.

T18.            Remove and the roots grubbed out.

T19.            Remove and the roots grubbed out.

Details of Replacement Required

As a condition of the removal of (T3) above, a replacement tree is to be planted in the front garden and below are the three alternative species for consideration:

Carpinus betulus ‘Fastigiata’        (Columnar Hornbeam)

Aesculus x carnea                             (Pink Chestnut)

Robinia pseudoacacia ‘Frisia’       (Yellow False Acacia)

The new tree should be planted during the November 2022 and March 2023 planting season with a stem girth of between16-18cm at 1m above ground level and at a minimum height of 3m.
