Woodhall Drive, 11

Proposal:

Species and Location of Trees

T1.          A Silver Birch tree approximately 4m in height, situated in the rear garden close to the left-hand side boundary and to the rear of a Weeping Willow.  The tree is covered in dense Ivy.

T2.          A Crack Willow tree approximately 12m in height, situated on the right-hand side boundary of the front garden.  The tree is leaning at a fairly acute angle over the adjacent allotments (Grange Lane allotments).

Description of Approved Works

T1.          The Ivy is to be removed.  If the tree is dead, it should also be removed with the roots grubbed out where possible.

T2.          Two low growing stems encroaching over the allotments should be cut back to the boundary by pruning at convenient growth points.  The remaining tree should be crown thinned by 20% including the removal of dead wood and necessary re-shaping.  The height and basic shape should be retained.  It is important to prune branches at convenient growth points, rather than an all-round reduction or pollarding which is not permitted.

Details of Replacement Required

None.  The garden is well stocked with trees.
