Proposal:

Species and Location of Trees

T1.          A Cypress tree approximately 16m in height, situated towards the bottom of the rear garden.  The tree is too large for the small garden.

T2.          An Ornamental Cypress tree approximately 7.5m in height, situated close to the rear left-hand corner of the house.  The tree is too large for the small rear garden.

T3.          A line of Cypress trees situated behind a small retaining wall along the right-hand side boundary bordering rail track land.  The trees are too tall.

Description of Approved Works

T1.          Remove and the stump ground out.

T2.          Remove and the stump ground out.

T3.          Reduce in height by up to 40% and the side growth trimmed back as much as possible whilst retaining green foliage and not exposing the inner dead wood.

Details of Replacement Required

As a condition of the removals of (T1) and (T2) above, two replacement trees are to be planted in convenient locations of the rear garden and below are the four alternative species for consideration:

Aesculus x carnea             (Crimson Chestnut)

Crataegus prunifolia        (Cockspur Thorn)

Betula jacquemontii       (Silver Birch)

Liquidambar styraciflua (Sweet Gum)

The trees should be planted with a stem girth of between 14-16cm at 1m above ground level and at a minimum height of 3m.  The trees should be planted during the November 2021 and March 2022 planting season.
