Proposal:

Species and Location of Trees

T1.   A Red Oak tree approximately 12m in height, situated on the front boundary with Townley Road.  The tree is a little dense and low growing.

T2.   A Sweet Gum of North America (Liquidambar styraciflua) approximately 12m in height, situated on the right-hand side of the rear garden to the front of the garage.  The tree is dying.

T3.   A Red Oak tree approximately 15m in height, situated to the left-side of the rear garden to the front of the garage.  The tree is a little dense and wide-spreading.

T4.   A Beech tree approximately 15m in height, situated in the bottom left-hand corner of the rear garden.  The tree is a little dense and wide-spreading.

T5.   A Magnolia tree approximately 5m in height, situated on the right-hand side boundary mid-way down the rear garden.  The tree is wide-spreading and out of shape.

Description of Approved Works

T1.  Crown thin by 20% including the removal of dead wood, lifting of low branches up to the main forking of the trunk.  The height and basic shape should be retained.

T2.   Remove by felling at ground level.

T3.   Crown thin by 20% including the removal of dead wood, lifting of low branches, and necessary re-shaping.  Branches encroaching towards the roof and guttering of no.2 Dovercourt Road should be trimmed back to the main trunk or a convenient growth point.  The height and basic shape should be retained.

T4.   Crown thin by 20% including the removal of dead wood, lifting of low branches, and necessary trimming back from an adjacent street lamp.  The height and basic shape should be retained.

T5.    Long lateral branches to be shortened to convenient growth points and the tree re-shaped as necessary to provide a more compact specimen.
