Proposal:
Specie and Location of Tree
Tree ID 8074 A Himalayan Birch tree approximately 7m in height, situated on the pavement boundary of the front garden. The tree is dead.
Description of Approved Works
Tree ID 8074 Remove.
Details of Replacement Required
As a condition of the removal of Tree ID 8074 above, a replacement tree should be planted in a convenient location of the front garden and below are the three alternative species for consideration:
Magnolia grandiflora (to pair with existing tree in the front)
Hoheria angustifolia (Narrow-leaved Lacebark) - evergreen elegant tree with fragrant white flowers in July.
Acacia dealbata (Silver Wattle) – evergreen with silver leaves and fragrant yellow flowers in late winter to early spring.
The new tree must be planted that meets British Standard 3936-1. This replacement must have a healthy crown and a minimum stem girth of 10–12cm when measured at 1.5m above ground level. The tree is to be planted during the October 2026 and March 2027 planting season.
To ensure the new tree thrives, it must be supported with a suitable stake to prevent "wind-rock" while the roots establish. The tree will require regular watering during the first two growing seasons, specifically from April to September. Please note that if the tree dies or becomes diseased within five years of planting, it must be replaced with a new specimen of the same specification.
