Proposal:

Species and Location of Trees

T1.         A Yew tree approximately 6m in height, and a group of Holm Oak saplings approximately 4m in height, are situated on the front boundary close to a dwarf wall at the back edge of the pavement. All the trees are too close to the wall.

T2.         A Magnolia tree approximately 7.5m in height, situated on the right-hand side boundary of the rear garden some 6m from the house.  The tree is a well-shaped specimen.

T3.         A Weeping Ash tree (now reverting to the original Ash stock) and approximately 9m in height, situated in the rear garden. The tree is poorly shaped and dying.

T4.         A Bird Cherry tree (Prunus padus) approximately 7.5m in height, situated on the left-hand side boundary of the rear garden close to a mature and well-shaped Cedar tree.  The Cherry is badly sited close to the fence and generally in poor health.

Description of Approved Works

T1.         The trees/saplings to be removed and the roots grubbed out.

T2.         This tree was previously given permission for removal however, the building work is nearing completion and the tree appears to be quite healthy and could therefore be retained if agreeable to the owners.

T3.         Remove and the stump ground out.

T4.         Remove and the stump ground out.

Details of Replacement Required

T1.         As a condition of the removals of the above, three replacement trees of the same specie are to be planted along the front boundary and below are the three  alternative species for consideration:

Tilia x euchlora                              (Lime (non drip))

Carpinus betulus ‘Fastigiata’            (Hornbeam)

Quercus ilex                                   (Holm Oak)

T3 & T4.   As a condition of the removals of the above, two replacement trees should be planted in the rear garden and below are the three  alternative species for consideration:

Liriodendron tulipifera                 (Tulip tree)

Fagus sylvatica ‘Atropurpurea’     (Purple Beech)

Robinia pseudoacacia ‘Frisia’        (Yellow False Acacia)

The new trees should be planted this planting season between November and March with a 18-20cm girth at 1m above ground level and a minimum height of 3.5m.
