Proposal:

Specie and Location of Tree

Tree ID 7133      A Sycamore tree approximately 18m in height, situated in the rear garden, centrally to the rear.  The tree features a co-dominant stem structure which possesses an inherent structural weakness.

Description of Approved Works

Tree ID 7133      Remove.

Details of Replacement Required

As a condition of the removal of the above, a replacement tree should be planted in a convenient location of the rear garden and below are the three alternative species for consideration:

Ulmus lutece                                  (Elm tree with resistance to Dutch elm Disease)

Ginkgo biloba                                 Maidenhair tree)

Fagus sylvatica ‘Dawyck Gold’    (Beech tree, upright habit with golden leaves)

The new tree should be planted during the October 2025 and March 2026 planting season with a minimum stem girth of between 10-12cm at 1m above ground level and at a minimum height of 3m.

To ensure the new tree thrives, it must be supported with a suitable stake to prevent "wind-rock" while the roots establish.  The tree will require regular watering during the first two growing seasons, specifically from April to September (watering bags are recommended). Please note that if the tree dies or becomes diseased within five years of planting, it must be replaced with a new specimen of the same specification.
