Proposal:

Specie and Location of Tree

Tree ID 8261     A Yew tree approximately 10m in height, situated in a central position of the rear garden.  The tree is dead.

Description of Approved Works

Tree ID 8261     Remove.

Details of Replacement Required

As a condition of the removal of the above, a replacement tree should be planted in a convenient location of the front garden and below are the three alternative species for consideration:

 

Albitzia julibrissin            (Persian Silk Tree)

Acacia dealbata               (Mimosa)

Olea europaea                 (Olive tree)

The new tree should be planted during the October 2025 and March 2026 planting season with a stem girth of between 8-12cm at 1m above ground level and at a minimum height of 2m.

Planting and Aftercare Specifications

To ensure the new tree thrives, it must be supported with a suitable stake to prevent "wind-rock" while the roots establish.  The tree will require regular watering during the first two growing seasons (ideally using a 75-litre capacity tree watering bag, refilled once or twice per week), specifically from April to September. Please note that if the tree dies or becomes diseased within five years of planting, it must be replaced with a new specimen of the same specification.
