Proposal:

Species and Location of Tree

A Silver Birch tree approximately 9m in height, situated close to the house on the right-hand side boundary of the rear garden.  The tree is sited only 1.5m from the new extension which is too close.

Description of Approved Works

Remove and the stump ground out or removed.

Details of Replacement Required

As a condition of the removal of the above, a replacement tree is to be planted in a convenient location of the rear garden, possibly mid-way down the left-hand side boundary of rear garden and below are the three alternative species for consideration:

Crataegus prunifolia        (Cockspur Thorn)

Liquidambar styraciflua (Sweet Gum of North America)

Gleditscia ‘Sunburst’      (Yellow Honey Locust)

The tree should be planted with a stem girth of between 16-18cm at 1m above ground level and at a minimum height of 4m.
