Proposal:

Species and Location of Trees

Tree ID 8166      A Plum tree approximately 8m in height, situated near the left-hand side of the rear garden.  The tree is dead and full of climber.

Tree ID 8167      A Leyland Cypress tree approximately 20m in height, situated on the far left-hand side of the rear garden.  The tree has significant dead wood, die back and poor vitality.

Description of Approved Works

Tree ID 8166      Remove as soon as possible.

Tree ID 8167      Remove.

Details of Replacement Required

Tree ID 8166      No replacement is required as a replacement Plum tree is growing alongside.

As a condition of the removal of Tree ID 8167 above, a replacement tree is to be planted in a convenient location in the rear garden, below are a selection of three alternative species for consideration:

Pinus Sylvestris                (Scots Pine) – Highly recommended native species.

Quercus frainetto            (Hungarian Oak)

Sorbus aria                       (Whitebeam)

The new tree should be planted during the October 2026 and March 2027 planting season with a stem girth of between 10-12cm at 1m above ground level and at a minimum height of 2m.

To ensure the new tree thrives, it must be supported with a suitable stake to prevent "wind-rock" while the roots establish.  The tree will require regular watering during the first two growing seasons (ideally using a 75-litre capacity tree watering bag), specifically from April to September. Please note that if the tree dies or becomes diseased within five years of planting, it must be replaced with a new specimen of the same specification.
