Species and Location of Trees

Tree ID 8490     A Lawsons Cypress tree approximately 10m in height, situated in the rear garden on the far boundary.  There are two dead trees together.

Tree ID 8491     A Yew tree approximately 5m in height, situated in the rear garden on the far left-hand side.  The tree is losing shape and definition.

Description of Approved Works

Tree ID 8490     Remove.

Tree ID 8491     Trim all over, reducing by up to 60cm as required to produce a more formal appearance.

Details of Replacement Required

As a condition of the removal of Trees ID:8490, one replacement tree is to be planted in a suitable and convenient location within the rear garden. The following three species are suggested for consideration:

Prunus amanogawa                       (Flagpole Cherry)

Cercis siliquastrum ’Alba’              (White flowering Judas tree)

Malus ‘Everest’                                (Crab apple)

The replacement tree is to be planted during the October 2026 to March 2027 planting season, with a stem girth between 8–12 cm measured at 1 m above ground level and a minimum overall height of 2.5 m.  The new tree should be securely supported with a suitable stake and tie to prevent wind-rock while the root system becomes established.  Regular watering will be required during the first two growing seasons, particularly from April to September. Ideally, a 75-litre tree watering bag should be used to ensure adequate and consistent watering.  If the replacement tree dies or becomes seriously diseased within five years of planting, it must be replaced with a new tree of the same specification.
