Proposal:

Specie and Location of Tree

Tree ID 8020      An Atlas Cedar tree approximately 15m in height, situated in the rear garden.  The tree is dead.

Description of Approved Works

Tree ID 8020      Remove.

Details of Replacement Required

As a condition of the removal of Tree ID 8020 above, a replacement tree should be planted in a convenient location of the rear garden and below are the three alternative species for consideration:

Sorbus aucuparia             (Rowan)

Malus floribunda             (Japanese Crab)

Prunus sargentii              (Sargent’s Cherry)

All have Spring flowers for bees and late summer fruits (except Cherry) for the birds

Planting should be scheduled during the October 2026 and March 2027 planting season with a stem girth of between 8-12cm at 1m above ground level and at a minimum height of 1.8m.

To ensure the new tree thrives, it must be supported with a suitable stake to prevent "wind-rock" while the roots establish.  The tree will require regular watering during the first two growing seasons, specifically from April to September. Please note that if the tree dies or becomes diseased within five years of planting, it must be replaced with a new specimen of the same specification.
