Proposal:

Species and Location of Trees

T1.          An Oak tree approximately 15m in height, situated on the right-hand side boundary of the rear garden.  The tree is a little dense and wide-spreading.

T2.          An Ornamental Cypress tree approximately 9m in height, situated in the front garden close to the steps down to the house.  The tree is too close to the steps.

Description of Approved Works

T1.          The low growing branch to the left is thinned at the branch extremity, including the removal of dead wood and necessary re-shaping.  The height and basic shape should be retained.  Ivy should also be removed where possible.

T2.          Remove and the stump ground out.

Details of Replacement Required

As a condition of the removal of (T2) above, a replacement tree is to be planted in a convenient location of the front garden and below are the three alternative species for consideration:

Ginkgo bilboa                     (Maidenhair tree)

Koelreuteria paniculata (Pride of India)

Sorbus aria ‘Majestica’  (Variety of Whitebeam)

 

The tree should be planted with a stem girth of between 14-16cm and at a minimum height of 3.5m.
