Proposal:

Species and Location of Trees

Tree ID 8311       A Bay tree approximately 10m in heigh, situated at the end right-hand corner of the rear garden.  The tree is encroaching into the garden.

Tree ID 8312       A Plum tree approximately 6m in height, situated on the left-hand side of the rear garden.  The tree is becoming too large for its location.

Tree ID 8313       A Birch tree approximately 9m in height, situated on the right-hand side of the rear garden.  The tree is dead.

Description of Approved Works

Tree ID 8311       Reduce the overhang into the garden by up to 1.5m, re-shaping for a natural form.

Tree ID 8312       Reduce the crown by up to 1m all over.

Tree ID 8313       Remove.

Details of Replacement Required

As a condition of the removal of Tree ID 8313 above, a replacement tree should be planted in a convenient location of the rear garden and below are the three alternative species for consideration:

Prunus ‘Amanogawa’                               (Flagpole Cherry)

Malus tschonoskii ‘Van Eseltine’                (small columnar crab Apple)

                        Sorbus aucuparia ‘Sheerwater Seedling’    (upright small Rowan tree)

The new tree should be planted during the October 2026 and March 2027 planting season with a minimum stem girth of between 8-12cm at 1m above ground level and at a minimum height of 2m.                          

Planting and Aftercare Specifications

To ensure the new tree thrives, it must be supported with a suitable stake to prevent "wind-rock" while the roots establish.  The tree will require regular watering during the first two growing seasons (ideally using a 75-litre capacity tree watering bag, refilled once or twice per week), specifically from April to September. Please note that if the tree dies or becomes diseased within five years of planting, it must be replaced with a new specimen of the same specification.
