Specie and Location of Tree

Tree ID 8530    A Lawsons Cypress tree approximately 9m in height, situated towards the end of the rear garden. The tree has a  pronounced lean to the left and dead wood throughout the crown.

Description of Approved Works

Tree ID 8530    Remove.

Details of Replacement Required

As a condition of the removal of Tree ID:8530 above, a replacement tree is to be planted in a suitable and convenient location within the front garden. The following three species are suggested for consideration:

                                 Arbutus unedo                            (Strawberry tree)

                                Prunus subhirtella ‘Autumnalis’ (Winter/spring flowering Cherry)

                                Sorbus aucuparia                         (Rowan tree)

The replacement tree is to be planted during the October 2026 to March 2027 planting season, with a stem girth of 10–12 cm measured at 1 m above ground level and a minimum overall height of 2.5 m. The new tree should be securely supported with a suitable stake and tie to prevent wind-rock while the root system becomes established. Regular watering will be required during the first two growing seasons, particularly from April to September. Ideally, a 75-litre tree watering bag should be used to ensure adequate and consistent watering. If the replacement tree dies or becomes seriously diseased within five years of planting, it must be replaced with a new tree of the same specification.
