Proposal:

Specie and Location of Tree

A Flowering Crab tree (Malus) approximately 7.5m in height, situated on the front boundary with Frank Dixon Way.  The tree is dying.

Description of Approved Works

Remove together with the stump being ground out or reduced in height to the lower canopy and live wood.

Details of Replacement Required

As a condition of the removal of the above, a replacement tree should be planted on the front boundary and below are the three alternative species for consideration:

Malus tschonoskii            (Flower Crab)

Malus ‘Profusion’            (Flowering Crab)

Malus ‘GoldenHornet’   (Flowering Crab)

 

The tree should be planted this planting season during November 2021 and March 2022 with a stem girth of between 14-16cm at 1m above ground level and at a minimum height of 2.5m.
