Proposal:
Specie and Location of Tree
Tree ID 8191 A Weeping Willow tree approximately 13m in height, situated at the far end of the rear garden. Main stem failed at 4m above ground level with largest main stem falling over 2 gardens. Remaining tree unstable, lacking vitality and signs of decay on main stem.
Description of Approved Works
Tree ID8191 Remove.
Details of Replacement Required
As a condition of the removal of Tree ID 8191 above, a replacement tree is to be planted in a convenient location of the rear garden and below are the three alternative species for consideration:
Gleditsia triacanthos ‘Skyline’ (Honey Locust)
Albitzia julibrissin (Silk tree)
Acer campestre (Field Maple)
The new tree should be planted during the October 2026 and March 2027 planting season with a minimum stem girth of between 10-12cm at 1m above ground level and at a minimum height of 2m.
To ensure the new tree thrives, it must be supported with a suitable stake to prevent "wind-rock" while the roots establish. The tree will require regular watering during the first two growing seasons (ideally using a 75-litre capacity tree watering bag), specifically from April to September. Please note that if the tree dies or becomes diseased within five years of planting, it must be replaced with a new specimen of the same specification.
