Dulwich Wood Avenue, 21

Proposal:

Species and Location of Trees

T1.          An Oak tree approximately 15m in height, situated in a central location in the rear garden some 6m from a single-storey rear extension (to be re-built).  The tree is a little dense and wide spreading.

T2.          A Cherry tree approximately 7.5m in height, situated on the front boundary with Dulwich Wood Avenue.  The tree is dead.

Description of Approved Works

T1.          Crown thin by 20% including the removal of dead wood and necessary re-shaping.  The height and basic shape should be retained.  Selected branches should be removed by pruning at convenient growth points, rather than an all-round reduction or pollarding which is not permitted.

T2.          Remove and the stump ground out.

Details of Replacement Required

As a condition of the removal of (T2) above, a replacement tree should be planted in a convenient location of the front garden and below are the three species for consideration:

Laburnum x vossii                            (Golden Chain)

Amelanchier lamarckii                    (Snowy Mespilus)

Crataegus ‘Paul’s Scarlet’              (Crimson May tree)

The tree should be planted this planting season between November 2020 and March 2021 with a stem girth of between 14-16cm at 1m above ground level and at a minimum height of 2.5m.
