Proposal:

Species and Location of Trees

Tree ID 8275     A Purple Leaf Plum tree approximately 5m in height, situated in the front garden, leaning over the driveway.  The tree is dead and decayed at the base.

Tree ID 8276     A False Acacia tree approximately 19m in height, situated central about halfway down the rear garden.  Fallen large dead limbs and falling live growth into neighbouring Yew tree.

Description of Approved Works

Tree ID 8275                   Remove.

Tree ID 8276                   To reduce failing lateral limbs by up to 60% to growth points where possible to improve safety.

Details of Replacement Required

As a condition of the removal of Tree ID 8275 above, a replacement tree should be planted in a convenient location of the front garden and below is the agreed specie:

              Arbutus unedo   (Strawberry tree)

The new tree should be planted during the October 2026 and March 2027 planting season with a stem girth of between 10-12cm at 1m above ground level and at a minimum height of 1.75m.

To ensure the new tree thrives, it must be supported with a suitable stake to prevent "wind-rock" while the roots establish.  The tree will require regular watering during the first two growing seasons (ideally using a 75-litre capacity tree watering bag), specifically from April to September. Please note that if the tree dies or becomes diseased within five years of planting, it must be replaced with a new specimen of the same specification.
