Proposal:

Species and Location of Trees

Two Cypress trees approximately 18m in height, situated together on the bottom boundary of the rear garden.  The trees are far too tall and dominant for a small rear garden.

Description of Approved Works

Remove by felling at ground level.

Details of Replacement Required

As a condition of the removals of the above, four replacement trees of the same specie are to be planted in a line inset from the bottom boundary of the rear garden and below are the three alternative species for consideration:

Aesculus x carnea             (Pink Horse Chestnut)

Crataegus prunifolia        (Cockspur Thorn)

Liquidambar styraciflua (Sweet Gum of N America)

 

The tree should be planted with a stem girth of between 14-16cm at 1m above ground level and at a minimum height of 3m.  The trees are to be planted during the next planting season between November 2021 and March 2022.

It may also be advisable to plant a hedge along the bottom boundary for privacy from the allotments, if this a agreeable one of the following three alternative evergreen species is recommended. New plants should be bushy specimens with at least five breaks in the lower third and be planted at a minimum height of 1.20M.
