Proposal:

Specie and Location of Tree

Tree ID 7142      A Sycamore tree approximately 20m in height, situated on the near left-hand side of the rear garden.  Main stem exhibits a lean in a southerly direction

Structural Defect (Lower main Stem): There is a significant area of bark loss/damage extending up to the main branching union at an estimated height of 3.5 metres.

Lower down at the base of the main stem there is clear evidence of cracked and oozing bark accompanied by dark, wet-looking staining. These visual signs on the lower stem are highly consistent with the fungal infection Sooty Bark Disease caused by the fungus Cryptostroma corticale.
