Proposal:

Species and Location of Trees

T1.          An Ash tree approximately 9m in height, situated on the right-hand side of the car park close to the rear left-hand corner of the house.  The tree is situated too close to the property.

T2.          An Indian Bean tree (Catalpa) approximately 10m in height, situated on the front boundary with Croxted Road.  The tree is showing signs of stress and some dieback in parts of the crown.

T3.          A Silver Birch tree approximately 6m in height, situated on the bottom boundary.  The tree is leaning at an acute angle across the boundary.

T4.          A Palm tree approximately 6m in height, situated close to the front elevation of the property.  The tree is a little dense in the upper crown.

Description of Approved Works

T1.          Remove and the stump either ground out or poisoned.

T2.          Crown thin by 20% including the removal of any dead wood, lifting of low branches, and the necessary pruning to allow unimpeded passage of telephone wires through the canopy.

T3.          Remove and the stump ground out.

T4.          Reduce in height to approximately 4m above ground level and trim back from the house where necessary.

Details of Replacement Required

As a condition of the removals of the above, at least one replacement tree is to be planted in a suitable location of the rear garden and below are the three alternative species for consideration:

Liquidambar styraciflua                                 (Sweet Gum)

Betula jacquemontii                                        (Silver Birch)

Prunus cerasifera ‘Atropurpurea’              (Purple Plum)

The tree should be planted with a stem girth of between 14-16cm at 1m above ground level and at a minimum height of 3m.
