Proposal:

Species and Location of Trees

T1.          A Sycamore tree approximately 20m in height, situated on the right-hand side boundary of the rear garden.  The tree is situated far too close to the flank wall of the house.

T2.          A twin-stemmed Cherry tree approximately 12m in height, situated in the centre of the front garden.  The tree is a little dense and low growing.

T3.          A Bay tree approximately 10m in height, situated on the front boundary with Crescent Wood Road.  The tree is a little dense and wide spreading.

Description of Approved Works

T1.          Remove and the roots poisoned.

T2.          Crown thin by 20% including the removal of dead wood, lifting of low branches, and necessary re-shaping.  The height and basic shape should be retained.  It is important to prune branches at convenient growth points, rather than an all-round reduction or pollarding.

T3.          Crown thin by 10% including the removal of dead wood, water shoots, lifting of low branches over the public footpath, and necessary re-shaping, the height and basic shape should be retained.

Details of Replacement Required

T1.          As a condition of the removal of the above, a replacement tree is to be planted in a convenient location of the rear garden and below are the three-alternative species for consideration:

Sorbus aria ‘Majestica’                  (Variety of Whitebeam)

Koelreuteria paniculate                 (Pride of India)

Paulownia tomentosa                    (Foxglove tree)
