Court Lane, 15

Proposal:

Species and Location of Trees

Tree ID 5834       A Hawthorn tree approximately 8m in height, situated centrally at the far end of the rear garden.  The tree is dead.

Tree ID 5835       A Pittosporum tree approximately 9m in height, situated in the rear garden very close to the house.

Description of Approved Works

Tree ID 5820       Remove.

Tree ID 5835       Given its very close proximity to the house and windows, the pittosporum needs significant pruning – up to 50% of its height – to create a more compact shape. The best time for this will be March next year, which should encourage quick regrowth in any bare areas.

Details of Replacement Required

As a condition of the removal of the above, a replacement tree should be planted in a convenient location of the rear garden and below are the three alternative species for consideration:

Acacia dealbata                               (Silver Wattle)

Olea europaea                                  (Olive tree)

Ligustrum japonicum                     (Japanese Privet)

The new tree should be planted during the October 2025 and March 2026 planting season with a stem girth of between 12-14cm at 1m above ground level and at a minimum height of 3m.
