Proposal:

Species and Location of Trees

Tree ID 7408      A Horse Chestnut tree approximately 18m in height, situated at the front of the property cornering the Railway Station car park.  The tree has a dense colonisation of Ivy (Hedera helix) throughout the main stem and crown, significantly obscuring structural form. The upper canopy exhibits extensive deadwood, suggesting a decline in physiological vitality.

Tree ID 7409      A Sycamore tree approximately 14m in height, situated in a central position in the rear garden.  The tree exhibits an unbalanced/asymmetric crown with significant accumulations of deadwood and suspended (hanging) branches.

Description of Approved Works

Tree ID 7408      Ivy Management: Sever at the base and strip from the main stem and internal crown to facilitate a thorough structural safety inspection.

Crown Clean: Remove all major deadwood throughout the upper canopy to mitigate the risk of branch failure.

Post-Work Assessment: A secondary inspection is required once the tree is in full leaf and free of Ivy to accurately determine the specimen's long-term viability and any further remedial requirements.

Tree ID 7409      Sanitation: Sever Ivy at the base. Remove all dead, dying, and diseased wood throughout the crown (Crown Clean).

Lateral Crown Reduction: Selectively reduce the longest lateral branches by up to 2m, pruning back to suitable secondary growth points to improve structural balance and symmetry.

Note: The overall tree height must remain unchanged.
