Proposal:
Species and Location of Trees
Tree ID 8280 An upright Elm tree approximately 3m in height, situated centrally in the main border of the front garden. The tree is dead.
Tree ID 8281 A London Plane tree approximately 22m in height, situated centrally on the far boundary of the rear garden. The tree has low hanging crown growth.
Description of Approved Works
Tree ID 8280 Remove.
Tree ID 8281 Remove dead, damaged or hanging wood. Crown lift where required up to 3m above ground level. No other works required.
Details of Replacement Required
As a condition of the removal of Tree ID 8280 above, a replacement tree should be planted in a convenient location of the front garden and below are the three alternative species for consideration:
Sorbus aucuparia (‘Sheerwater Seedling’)
Malus toringo (Scarlet Brouwers Beauty’)
Magnolia (‘Heaven Scent’)
The new tree should be planted during the October 2026 and March 2027 planting season with a stem girth of between 8-12cm at 1m above ground level and at a minimum height of 2m.
Planting and Aftercare Specifications
To ensure the new tree thrives, it must be supported with a suitable stake to prevent "wind-rock" while the roots establish. The tree will require regular watering during the first two growing seasons (ideally using a 75-litre capacity tree watering bag, refilled once or twice per week), specifically from April to September. Please note that if the tree dies or becomes diseased within five years of planting, it must be replaced with a new specimen of the same specification.
