Proposal:

Species and Location of Trees

T1.          A Cypress tree approximately 5m in height, situated on the left-hand side boundary midway down the rear garden.  The tree is a little dense and wide spreading.

T2.          Two Holm Oak trees approximately 15m in height, situated close to the bottom right-hand corner of the rear garden.  The trees are a little dense and wide spreading.

T3.          A Wild Plum tree approximately 6m in height, situated close to the house on the right-hand side boundary of the rear garden.  The tree is a little dense.

T4.          A Cypress tree approximately 9m in height, situated in a central location on the bottom boundary of the rear garden.  The tree is dead.

Description of Approved Works

T1.          Reduce in height by up to 2m and round off to form a more compact shape, side growth should be clipped back proportionally, however, it is important to retain green foliage and not expose the inner dead wood.

T2.          Crown thin by 25% including the removal of dead wood and necessary re-shaping.  The height may be reduced by up to 2m.  However, it is important to prune branches at convenient growth points where possible.

T3.          Re-pollard at previous pruning points.

T4.          Remove and the roots grubbed out.

Details of Replacement Required

As a condition of the removal of (T4) above, a replacement tree should be planted in a nearby location of the rear garden and below are the three alternative species for consideration:

Crataegus prunifolia        (Cockspur Thorn)

Sorbus aucuparia              (Rowan)

Acer davidii                         (Paperbark Maple)

The tree should be planted with a stem girth of between 12-14cm at 1m above ground level and at a minimum height of 3m.
