Proposal:
Specie and Location of Tree
Tree ID 8190 A Weeping Willow tree approximately 14m in height, situated on the far left-hand side of the rear garden. Main stem recently failed at major branch junction 2m above ground level. Fallen across garden, partly in neighbours garden at no.83. Remaining stems are now vulnerable for failure.
Description of Approved Works
Tree ID 8190 Remove.
Details of Replacement Required
As a condition of the removal of Tree ID 8190 above, a replacement tree is to be planted in a convenient location of the rear garden and below are the three alternative species for consideration:
Prunus padus (Bird Cherry)
Sorbus aria (Whitebeam)
Malus trilobata (Lebanese wild apple)
The new tree should be planted during the October 2026 and March 2027 planting season with a minimum stem girth of between 10-12cm at 1m above ground level and at a minimum height of 2m.
To ensure the new tree thrives, it must be supported with a suitable stake to prevent "wind-rock" while the roots establish. The tree will require regular watering during the first two growing seasons (ideally using a 75-litre capacity tree watering bag), specifically from April to September. Please note that if the tree dies or becomes diseased within five years of planting, it must be replaced with a new specimen of the same specification.
