Proposal:
Specie and Location of Tree
Tree ID 6838 A Lime tree approximately 16m in height, situated in the rear garden on the far right-hand side behind the shed. Recent pruning observations conducted under a previous Licence have exposed significant decay on the lower main stem.
Description of Approved Works
Tree ID 6838 Reduce the tree to a 3m standing monolith (main stem only). This specification is required to mitigate the risk of structural failure while retaining the habitat to support local biodiversity.
Details of Replacement Required
As a condition of the removal of the above, a replacement tree must be planted in a convenient location in the rear garden, and below are three alternative species for consideration:
Crataegus crus-galli (Cockspur Thorn with attractive leaf, flower and fruits)
Prunus ‘Pink Shell’ (small elegant with shell pink blossoms)
Sorbus aucuparia (Rowan, native tree with spring white flowers and red autumn berries)
The new tree should be planted during the October 2026 and March 2027 planting season with a stem girth of between 10-12cm at 1m above ground level and at a minimum height of 2m.
To ensure the new tree thrives, it must be supported with a suitable stake to prevent "wind-rock" while the roots establish. The tree will require regular watering during the first two growing seasons, specifically from April to September. Please note that if the tree dies or becomes diseased within five years of planting, it must be replaced with a new specimen of the same specification.
