Species and Location of Trees

Tree ID 8448       An Apple tree approximately 6m in height, situated in a central position of the rear garden.  There is decay on the main stems and showing poor vitality.

Tree ID 8449       An Apple tree approximately 4m in height, situated towards the end of the rear garden.  The tree is in very poor condition.

Tree ID 8450       A Cherry Plum tree approximately 5m in height, situated at the end of the rear garden.  The tree requires re-shaping and dead wood removal.

Tree ID 8451       A Pear tree approximately 7m in height, situated on the right-hand side of the rear garden.  There is dead wood visible.

Description of Approved Works

Tree ID 8448       Remove.

Tree ID 8449       Remove.

Tree ID 8450       Remove dead wood and re-shape by lifting crown to give a 1.75m clearance above ground level and reduce lateral growth by up to 1.5m as required for a more compact feature.

Tree ID 8451       Remove dead wood only.

Details of Replacement Required

As a condition of the removals of the Tree ID 8448 and Tree ID 8449 above, a replacement tree should be planted in a convenient location of the rear garden and below are the three alternative species for consideration:

 

Malus ‘Rudolph’                                                (Small upright Crab apple)

Prunus sargentii                                               (one of the best flowering Cherries)

Magnolia x loebneri ‘Leonard Messel’        (Lilac Pink flowering Magnolia)

 

The replacement tree is to be planted during the October 2026 to March 2027 planting season, with a stem girth of 8–12 cm measured at 1 m above ground level and a minimum overall height of 2m.

The new tree should be securely supported with a suitable stake and tie to prevent wind-rock while the root system becomes established.

Regular watering will be required during the first two growing seasons, particularly from April to September. Ideally, a 75-litre tree watering bag should be used to ensure adequate and consistent watering.

If the replacement tree dies or becomes seriously diseased within five years of planting, it must be replaced with a new tree of the same specification.
