Proposal:

Species and Location of Trees

T1.       A Sycamore tree approximately 15m in height, situated in the bottom right-hand corner of the rear garden.  The tree is a little dense.

T2.       A Lime tree approximately 15m in height, situated on the bottom boundary of the rear garden.

T3.       A Purple Plum tree approximately 7.5m in height, situated on the right-hand side near the bottom boundary of the rear garden.  The tree is a little dense.

T4.       A Field Maple tree approximately 15m in height, situated on the left-hand side boundary of the rear garden.  The tree is a little dense and wide-spreading.

T5.       Two Silver Birch trees approximately 10m in height, situated on the left-hand side boundary of the rear garden, to the front of (T4).  The trees are poorly shaped and in declining health.

Description of Approved Works

T1.       Crown thin by 20% including the removal of dead wood and necessary re-shaping.  The height and basic                     shape should be retained.

T2.       Remove one low branch to the right-hand side at the main trunk to re-balance the tree, including the removal              of dead wood.

T3.       Crown thin by 20% including the removal of dead wood and necessary re-shaping.  The height and basic                      shape should be retained.

T4.       Crown thin by 20% including the removal of dead wood, lifting of low branches and necessary re-shaping.  The       height and basic shape should be retained.

T5.       Remove and the stumps ground out or poisoned.

Details of Replacement Required

As a condition of the removals of the above, a replacement tree is to be planted in a nearby location of the rear garden and below are the three-alternative species for consideration:

Betula nigra                             (River Birch)

Crataegus prunifolia                 (Cockspur Thorn)

Koelreuteria paniculate             (Pride of India)
