Species and Location of Tree

A Copper Beech tree approximately 16m in height, situated on the right-hand side boundary of the front garden.

Description of Approved Works

Remove and the stump ground out.

Details of Replacement Required

As a condition of the removal of the above, replacement trees are to be planted in the front garden one close to the location of the Beech tree and the other close to the front left-hand corner of the garden adjacent to the road.  The following three alternative species are recommended for consideration:

Near the removed Beech tree (all are evergreen)

Ilex aquifolium variety   (Holly)

Magnolia grandiflora      (Evergreen Magnolia)

Arbutus unedo                  (Strawberry tree)

Front left-hand corner

Koelreuteria paniculata (Pride of India)

Acer griseum                      (Paperbark Maple)

Cornus controversa         (Flowering Dogwood)

The trees should be planted with a stem girth of between 14-16cm at 1m above ground level and at a minimum height of 3.5m.
