Proposal:

Species and Location of Trees

T1.          Two Weeping Willow trees approximately 10m and 12m in height, situated on the bottom boundary of the rear garden.  The trees are dead.

T2.          A Magnolia tree approximately 5m in height, situated close to the house on the right-hand side boundary of the rear garden.  The tree is a little tall and wide spreading.

Description of Approved Works

T1.          Remove and the stumps ground out or poisoned.

T2.          Crown thin by 25% including the removal of any dead wood and necessary re-shaping. The height may be reduced to between 2.5m and 3m and the side growth trimmed back proportionally.  It is important to prune branches at convenient growth points where possible.

Details of Replacement Required

As a condition of the removals of the above, two replacement trees should be planted in convenient locations close to the bottom boundary of the rear garden and below are the three alternative species for consideration:

Arbutus unedo                  (Strawberry tree (evergreen))

Crataegus prunifolia        (Cockspr Thorn)

Sorbus aucuparia              (Rowan)

The trees should be planted with a stem girth of between 14-16cm at 1m above ground level and at a minimum height of 2.5m.  The trees are to be planted during the November 2021 and March 2022 planting season.
