Proposal:

Species and Location of Trees

T1.          A group of 6 – 7 Ornamental Cypress trees approximately 6m to 9m in height, situated on the front right-hand side boundary close to the road.  The trees are in poor condition with significant dieback and are reaching the end of their life as decorative trees.

T2.          A large group of Ornamental Cypress trees approximately 7.5m in height, situated on the left-hand side boundary of the rear garden.  The trees are in poor condition with significant dieback and are reaching the end of their life as decorative trees.

Description of Approved Works

T1.          Remove and the roots grubbed out.

T2.          Remove and the roots grubbed out.

Details of Replacement Required

T1.          As a condition of the removals of (T1) above, two replacement trees should be planted in a convenient location of the front garden and below are four alternative species for consideration:

Crataegus prunifolia                        (Cockspur Thorn)

Sorbus aria ‘Majesticia’                 (variety of Whitebeam)

Koelreuteria paniculata                 (Pride of India)

Amelanchier lamarkii                      (Snowy Mespilus)

The trees should be planted with a stem girth of between 14-16cm at 1m above ground level and at a minimum height of 3.5m.

 

T2.          As a condition of the removals of (T2) above, two replacement trees should be planted in a convenient location of the rear garden and below are five alternative species for consideration:

Albizzia julibrissin             (Silk tree)

Acer japonicum                 (Japanese Maple)

Paulownia tomentosa    (Foxglove tree)

Pinus sylvestris                 (Scots Pine tree)

Ginkgo biloba                     (Maidenhair tree)

The tree should be planted with a stem girth of between 14-16cm at 1m above ground level and at a minimum height of 3.5m.
