Proposal:

Species and Location of Trees

T1.          A Cedar tree approximately 15m in height, situated in central location on the front boundary with Gilkes Crescent.  The tree is too large and dense for its location.

T2.          A Holly tree approximately 6m in height, situated on the right-hand side of the rear garden. The tree is too tall.

T3.          Two Red Western Cedar trees approximately 10m in height, situated on opposite sides midway down the rear garden.  The trees are too large for the small garden.

Description of Approved Works

T1.          Remove and the stump ground out.

T2.          Reduce in height by up to 2.5m and round off proportionally to form a more compact specimen including the removal of any dead wood.

T3.          Remove and the stump ground out.

Details of Replacement Required

T1.          As a condition of the removal of (T1) above, a replacement tree is to be planted in a nearby location of the front garden and below are the three alternative species for consideration:

Crataegus ‘Paul’s Scarlet’              (Crimson May tree)

Laburnum x vossii                            (Golden Chain)

Betula nigra                                        (River Birch)

The tree should be planted this planting season between November 2021 and March 2022 with a stem girth of between 14-16cm at 1m above ground level and at a minimum height of 3m.

T3.          As a condition of the removals of (T2) above, a replacement tree is to be planted in a suitable location of the rear garden and below are the three alternative species for consideration:

Betula jacquemontii              (Silver Birch)

Arbutus unedo                       (Strawberry tree)

Cercis siliquastrum                (Judas tree)

The tree should be planted this planting season between November 2021 and March 2022 with a stem girth of between 14-16cm at 1m above ground level and at a minimum height of 3m.
