The fencing and dead hedging seen in Dulwich Wood are part of the Reuniting Sydenham Hill Wood and Dulwich Wood project to support the recovery of nature in the woods. The fenced off areas have suffered from significant damage and London Wildlife Trust, in collaboration with The Dulwich Estate, are working to encourage the ground flora to grow back and create habitat for small mammals including hedgehogs. The people who volunteer in the woods do a fantastic job of supporting these aims and are experiencing vandalism to the fencing on a regular basis.  Please support nature by staying out of these areas and exploring other parts of the woods.  This will enable us to remove the fencing sooner as the woods become a beautiful haven for visitors and wildlife residents alik are working to encourage the ground flora to grow back and create habitat for small mammals including hedgehogs.
