Rare flowers spotted
17 September 2025Thank you to eagle-eyed residents for reporting sightings of some rarer flower species which we think can be attributed to less intensive mowing.
Pyramidal orchid
Common spotted orchid
The pyramidal orchid and common spotted orchid have been spotted, in addition to meadow saxifrage and bee orchids. Undoubtedly the gentler regime will have had a positive impact on the number of insects thriving this year, important for wildlife to thrive.
