Rare butterfly spotted 

The species has become nationally endangered by the continued spread of Dutch Elm disease and depends upon healthy trees for its continued survival.

This species relies on Elm trees as a food source and habitat and was recorded at the Village Orchard on Gallery Road. It was spotted by an ecologist from the South London Botanical Institute and local residents on Burbage Road.
