Dulwich community orchard plans on display

12 September 2018

We hope to create a new community orchard in Dulwich Village, to mark our 400th anniversary next year. In the next couple of months we will apply to the local planning authorities, seeking permission to plant heritage apple trees on the field next to The Old Grammar School on Gallery Road in Dulwich.

Our aim is to work with community groups to bring into use the land throughout the year, while ensuring natural habitats and the peaceful nature of the space is conserved. A community orchard can provide a range of benefits for years to come including a real contribution to fruit provision, a nature-rich space for community events and a reintroduction of orchard skills.

Come and view proposals and drawings of the orchard at The Dulwich Estate office on Gallery Road, Dulwich, from September 26, where we welcome your comments.
