Come along to events at Village Orchard

This Spring and throughout the year, The Dulwich Estate and London Wildlife Trust invite everyone to enjoy a series of free, nature‑inspired events at the much‑loved Dulwich Village Orchard on Gallery Road.

These gatherings offer families, neighbours, and nature‑lovers the chance to reconnect with the outdoors through creative, educational and wildlife‑friendly activities. Events typically run 12pm-4pm, with drop‑in activities suitable for all ages. Bring a blanket and a picnic, explore the Orchard, and make a day of it.

Forthcoming Orchard Events

Spring in the Orchard, Saturday 14 March, 12pm–4pm

Celebrate the arrival of Spring with a day of crafting, nature‑based activities and gentle seasonal exploration in the Village Orchard.

Seed to Song, Saturday 9 May, 12pm–4pm

As part of the Dulwich Festival, this musical and creative afternoon invites visitors to explore the natural rhythms of the Orchard. Expect nature‑inspired crafts, gentle sound‑making activities, and opportunities to learn about the wildlife that calls the Orchard home.

Apple Day, Saturday 24 October, 12pm–4pm

A much‑loved autumn tradition, Apple Day celebrates the Orchard’s heritage apple varieties and the wildlife that thrives among them. Enjoy seasonal crafts, orchard tours, apple‑themed activities and a relaxed community atmosphere perfect for families.

Across the year, activities typically include:

  • Hands‑on nature crafting
  • Skill‑building workshops (such as planting and wildlife‑friendly techniques)
  • Informal guided orchard explorations
  • Seasonal nature play for children
  • A welcoming, family‑friendly environment

All events are free, open to all, and designed to support local connection with nature. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult. The programme forms part of an ongoing partnership between The Dulwich Estate and London Wildlife Trust, who work together to enhance biodiversity across Dulwich and create meaningful opportunities for residents to experience and care for their local green spaces.
