Bell House works to reduce carbon footprint

08 December 2021

The Bell House education and community centre on College Road, has been working hard to reduce its carbon footprint.

Ten huge holes, each 500 feet deep, were drilled in the walled garden to collect warm water for the ground source heat pump. Volunteers have created new flower beds in the garden and plans have been approved for a new pottery and garden workshop to be built.

The centre continues to deliver a busy programme of learning support including touch-typing, a dyslexia after-school club, a quilting exhibition, local history talks and the stitchers’ “Nothing to Landfill” sessions, health talks, and classes in film-making and painting. Inside there’s a new podcast room. For more details about what’s on offer and how to get involved visit bellhouse.co.uk/alleve.
