A word from our Chief Executive

17 September 2025

This season is a busy time for the Estate. We are continuing a programme of work to look after trees in the area and to carry out succession planting during the critical winter months.

The scheme includes pruning and sometimes unfortunately felling where decaying trees cannot be saved. We strive to be responsible land managers and adhere to best practice in this matter. To raise awareness of how we work, the Estate will be publish its full tree management policy online later this year. It has been wonderful to see the progress London Wildlife Trust are making in Dulwich Woods – further details are included in this newsletter and on LWT’s website. We are also busy with several building projects – working with residents at Dulwich Almhouse to improve their homes, and undertaking essential maintenance of the Chapel and elsewhere. These projects can cause disruption in the short term, but they ensure people and places are well looked after in the longer term. Thank you for your understanding.
