The Dulwich Estate improves road safety for vulnerable users

30 January 2024

Hunts Slip Road in Dulwich will undergo a major road safety improvement programme this summer. It is being redesigned by The Dulwich Estate which owns the road and wishes to make it safer for children and parents walking or cycling to schools in the area.

Improvements will include segregated cycle lanes in each direction, improved crossing facilities with two additional zebra crossings and redesigned roundabout. Restricted drop off/parking bays will be on one side of the road only, to reduce the amount of car activity currently creating risks for cyclists and pedestrians. The road serves many schools and is heavily used by pupils and parents travelling to several schools. It will be closed in the summer holidays while The Dulwich Estate carries out the works. Further details on timings will be posted here.
