Proposal:

Species and Location of Trees

Rear Garden (from left side in a clockwise direction)

T1.          An Oak tree approximately17m in height, situated on the left-hand side boundary near the top of the steps.

T2.          A dead stump approximately 5m in height.

T3.          An Oak tree approximately 17m in height, situated on the bottom boundary of the rear garden.

T4.          An Oak tree approximately 15.00M in height is situated on the right-hand side boundary.  The tree is in poor health and condition.

T5.          An Oak tree situated in the front garden recently fell and was removed.

Description of Approved Works

T1.          Crown thin by 20% including the removal of dead wood and necessary re-shaping.  The height and basic shape should be retained.  It is important to prune branches at convenient growth points, rather than an all-round reduction which is not recommended as it is important aesthetically to maintain a natural shape and be compatible with similar trees in the woods to the rear.

T2.          No attention required.

T4.          Remove and the roots grubbed out.

T5.          Remove the remaining stump and the roots grubbed out.

Details of Replacement Required

T4.          As a condition of the removal of the above, a replacement tree is to be planted in a suitable location of the rear garden and below are the three alternative species for consideration:

Quercus robur                   (Oak)

Carpinus betulus              (Hornbeam)

Robinia pseudoacacia     (False Acacia)

The tree should be planted with a stem girth of between 14-16cm at 1m above ground level and at a minimum height of 3m. The new tree should be planted during the planting season November 2021 and March 2022.

T5.          As a condition of the removal of the above, a replacement tree is to be planted in a suitable location of the front garden and below are the three alternative species for consideration:

Fagus sylvatica                   (Beech)

Carpinus betulus              (Hornbeam)

Robinia pseudoacacia     (False Acacia)

The tree should be planted with a stem girth of between 14-16cm at 1m above ground level and at a minimum height of 3m. The new tree should be planted during the planting season November 2021 and March 2022.
