Proposal:

Specie and Location of Tree

A Horse Chestnut tree approximately 10m in height, situated on the bottom boundary of the rear garden.  The tree is showing signs of dieback.

Description of Approved Works

The tree can either be reduced in height to just above where it forks and retained as a monolith or it can be removed in its entirety.

Details of Replacement Required

As a condition of the removal of the above, a replacement tree should be planted in a convenient location of the rear garden and below are the three alternative species for consideration:

Betula jacquemontii       (Silver Birch)

Acer davidii                         (Snakebark Maple)

Arbutus unedo                  (Strawberry tree)

The new tree should be planted during the November 2022 and March 2023 planting season with a stem girth of between 14-16cm at 1m above ground level and at a minimum height of 3m.
