Dulwich Wood Avenue, 8

Proposal:

Species and Location of Trees

T1.          An Ash tree approximately 15m in height, situated on the right-hand side boundary of the front garden.  The tree is sited too close to the garage.

T2.          An Ash tree approximately 12m in height, situated on the front boundary to the left of the entrance.  The tree is a little wide spreading.

T3.          A Holly tree approximately 6m in height, situated on the garden side of (T2) above. The tree is growing into the Ash.

Description of Approved Works

T1.          Remove and the roots grubbed out.

T2.          Crown thin by 30% including the removal of dead wood, lifting low branches, and shortening long lateral branches in order to provide a more compact specimen.  The height and basic shape should be retained.  It is important to prune branches at convenient growth points, rather than an all-round reduction or pollarding which is not permitted.

T3.          Reduce in height to approximately 3.00M and rounded off proportionally.

Details of Replacement Required

As a condition of the removal of (T1) above, a replacement tree is to be planted in a convenient location on the front left-hand side boundary and below are the three alternative species for consideration:

Carpinus betulus                              (Hornbeam)

Betula jacquemontii                       (Silver Birch)

Liquidambar styraciflua                 (Sweet Gum)

The new tree should be planted during the November 2022 and March 2023 planting season with a stem girth of between 14-16cm at 1m above ground level and at a minimum height of 3m.
