Proposal:

Species and Location of Trees

T1.         A Laurel tree approximately 4m in height, situated in the front left-hand corner adjacent to Dovercourt Road.  The tree is a little dense and low growing.

T2.         A twin stemmed Elder tree approximately 7.5m in height, situated on the right-hand side boundary midway down the rear garden.  The tree is poorly shaped which is leaning at an acute angle towards the house.

T3.         A Holly tree approximately 7.5m in height is, situated on the left-side boundary opposite T2 Elder.  The tree is a little dense and wide spreading.

T4.         Three small Olive trees approximately 2m in height, situated on each side boundary close to the bottom of the rear garden.  The trees are in poor condition.

T5.         A poorly shaped Cypress hedge approximately 5m in height, situated along the bottom boundary of the rear garden.

Description of Approved Works

T1.         Lightly thin by 15% including the removal of any dead wood and necessary re-shaping. The height may also be reduced by up to 1m and low branches over the public footpath should be lifted to provide a clearance of 2m above ground level.

T2.         Remove or reduce in height by approximately 30% and re-shape as necessary.

T3.         Lightly thin by 15% including the removal of dead wood and necessary re-shaping.

T4.         Re-shape or remove.

T5.         Remove.

Details of Replacement Required

T5.         As a condition of the removal of (T5) above, a replacement hedge is to be planted in along the bottom boundary of the rear garden and below are three alternative species for consideration:

Ligustrum vulgare           (Common Privet)

Prunus lusitanica            (Portugal Laurel)

Fagus sylvatica                (Beech)
