Proposal:

Species and Location of Trees

T1.         A Prunus tree approximately 7.5m in height, situated on the left-hand side boundary of the rear garden.

T2.         A Cypress tree approximately 5m in height, situated at the bottom of the rear garden.  The tree is becoming too large for its location.

T3.         An Almond tree approximately 5m in height, situated in the bottom right-hand corner of the rear garden.  The tree is mis-shaped and in poor condition.

T4.         A Norway Maple tree approximately 15m in height, situated in the centre of the rear garden.  The tree is too large for the small garden.

Description of Approved Works

T1.         Crown thin by 20% including the lifting of low branches and the removal of any dead wood.  The height and basic shape should be retained.

T2.         Reduce all round by 1.5m whilst retaining the green foliage and not exposing the inner dead wood.

T3.         Remove.

T4.         Remove and the stump ground out.

Details of Replacement Required

T3.         A replacement tree is not necessary.as the garden is well stocked with trees.

T4.         As a condition of the removal of T4, a replacement tree is to be planted in a convenient location of the rear garden and below are the three alternative species for consideration:

Acer davidii                      (Snakebark Maple)

Amelanchier lamarckii   (Snowy Mespilus)

Sorbus aucuparia            (Rowan)

The new tree should be planted during the November 2023 and March 2024 planting season with a stem girth of between 12-14cm at 1m above ground level and at a minimum height of 2.5m.
